About Peter
Peter is the founder and President & CEO of Association Matters, Inc., bringing more than three decades of experience in education, healthcare administration, professional associations, and nonprofit management.
His career began as a high school Business Management and Marketing teacher at Glen Cove High School on Long Island, where he also served as DECA Advisor for six years. He later transitioned to healthcare administration with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and subsequently held administrative positions with GBMC Medical Center, a plastic and reconstructive surgical practice, and a large physician group.
Peter’s entry into association management came when leaders of a state healthcare organization asked him to provide administrative support to its board and committees. That experience ultimately led to the creation of Association Matters, Inc., which he established in March 2000 to provide nonprofit organizations with a collaborative, team-based approach to association management.
Peter is passionate about developing people and building teams. He believes that when talented individuals are given the right environment, support, and opportunity, they can accomplish far more than they initially believe possible.
Outside of work, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, building and operating his HO-scale model railroad, and, perhaps unexpectedly, appearing on three episodes of The FBI Files on the Discovery Channel.
